About Rising Stars Academy

Rising Stars Academy is a private, family-owned childcare and early education center serving children from infancy through 5th grade. We have 4 locations across LA. With our Abeka Curriculum and STEM-based learning, we prepare children for school and life with a blend of academic rigor, creativity, and social-emotional development.

We believe in learning through both structure and play. By combining indoor and outdoor classrooms in a
home-away-from-home setting, we create an atmosphere where children feel safe to explore, try new things, and develop confidence.

We’re Hiring Teachers at All Levels:
Whether you have a passion for infants, toddlers, or preschoolers, we have opportunities for you to thrive! We’re seeking Early Childhood Teachers to join our team across all age groups (0 – 5 years old). This is a year-round position, with additional hours available when the program is out of session or outside regular program hours.

Key Responsibilities:
● Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities.
● Lead a specific age group/classroom, guiding and supporting co-teachers.
● Create and nurture meaningful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
● Organize and participate in family events and community-building activities.
● Maintain a clean and organized classroom, ensuring it’s a safe space for all children.
● Communicate effectively with parents and co-workers in a professional, positive manner.
● Other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the program.

Qualifications:
● Option 1: 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development (CD), or
● Option 2: Associate, Teacher, or Master Teacher Child Development Permit from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
● At least 3 units must be an Infant or Toddler course with a grade of C or better.

General Qualifications:
● Must be at least 18 years old.
● High school diploma or equivalent.
● A minimum of 6 months of experience working with children in a group setting.
● Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate activities.
● Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine ability to connect with children and adults.
● Respect for diversity and the ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with families and coworkers.
● Strong character values such as respect, responsibility, honesty, and caring.
● Excellent communication skills and emotional maturity.

Required Health & Safety Qualifications:
● Current immunizations (TB, influenza, pertussis, measles) and a physical exam.
● Background check, including Live Scan and reference checks.
● EMSA-approved Infant, Child, and Adult CPR and Basic First Aid

Mandatory Training & Certifications (to be completed upon hire):
● California Child Care Preventative Health and Safety Training
● Rising Stars Academy Workplace Harassment online training

We’re looking for an experienced Childcare Center Director to join us in continuing to make a positive impact on the lives of the children and families we serve.

What You'll Do:

As the Childcare Center Director, you’ll be at the heart of our center, guiding our team of dedicated teachers and ensuring our programs run smoothly and effectively. Your leadership will help shape the experience for both children and staff, creating an environment that feels like a second home for our families. Successful candidates will have a strong understanding of the daily operations and office functions of a privately owned childcare facility.

Here’s what you’ll be responsible for:

● Leading a Team: Supervise and support our fantastic infant, preschool, and school-age teachers, helping them grow through professional development and ongoing training.

● Fostering a Positive Environment: Create an atmosphere of positivity and collaboration where teachers, staff, and families can communicate easily and work together to support each child's progress.

● Program Development: Work closely with teachers to develop creative and meaningful educational programs that meet high standards for children’s growth and development.

● Managing Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the center, ensuring that everything runs smoothly, and that we are in compliance with all state and federal regulations.

● Parent Partnerships: Meet with parents regularly to discuss their child’s progress and work together to resolve any concerns or questions.

● Team Building & Training: Hire, train, and support staff to ensure they are equipped with the tools, resources, and training they need to succeed.

● Budget & Facility Oversight: Manage budgets, set fees, and ensure the facility is safe, clean, and up to code.

● Marketing & Outreach: Represent Rising Stars to the community, including coordinating marketing efforts and maintaining relationships with subsidized agencies like Crystal Stairs and DREW.

What We’re Looking For:

● 5+ years of experience as a full-time Childcare Director at a private childcare facility.

● Knowledge of subsidized programs (Crystal Stairs, DREW, etc.) is a plus, but not required.

● Passionate about working with children and dedicated to fostering their growth and development.

● A true leader who can inspire and guide a team of educators to deliver the best care and education.

● Strong communicator with the ability to collaborate with staff, parents, and the community.

● A love for problem-solving, supporting staff, and creating a positive, professional work environment.

● Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
